The educational program at St. Dominic School is designed to teach the whole child. St. Dominic School creates a school environment where children are safe, successful, and free to take risks in order to become their best selves. We offer a rigorous instructional program that is aligned to National, State and Common Core State Standards. We believe in a holistic learning experience where teachers make data driven decisions that take into account each child’s specific learning needs, personality, and moral development. We believe that a child is a whole being and it is our responsibility to teach the whole child. Teachers backwards plan and create a curriculum that is vertically and horizontally aligned that provides our students the knowledge, skills, and experiences they need to become not only academic achievers but also morally competent and happy children who are agents of change in their community.
The development of critical thinking, creative thinking, and strong communication skills are woven into our curriculum on a daily basis. It is our purpose to ensure students are given the skills necessary to attend the high school and University of their choosing.
St. Dominic School strives to meet the needs of all children. Teachers use data to differentiate their teaching methods for all learners within their classroom. The academic curriculum at St. Dominic School is robust and enhanced with offerings in computer technology, visual, musical, and performing arts, Spanish, physical education, library skills, and research instruction.
